  • How long will it take to charge my car?
    Depending on your vehicle and the charger you have selected , you can receive a power supply of up to 10kW (30A) - 11.5kW (48A).This impressive capability means that an average Tesla Model 3, which has a battery capacity of 60.5 kWh, can be fully charged in under 6 hours. By utilizing our chargers, you can rest assured that your EV will be completely charged and ready to go when you wake up in the morning.
  • How much maintenance does an EV charger need?
    In most cases, the answer is very little. For Level 1 and 2 home chargers, the most maintenance you’ll typically need is an occasional quick check for any damage to the cables and plugs to ensure they’re in good working order. With everyday use, these chargers are designed to last years before they require servicing. If you experience any problems with your charging station, we recommend contacting us.
  • Are there any rebates?
    Unfortunately, due to its popularity, BChydro has made their single family homes rebates unavailable as of June 15,2023. However, There are rebates for workplaces and condominiums available through the BCHydro website that can reimburse up to 50% of the costs. https://electricvehicles.bchydro.com/incentives/charger-rebates
  • How much does it cost to charge my car?
    If you're using your own private home charger, the energy consumed will be simply added to your regular energy bill. In the case of multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs), you may need to coordinate with your strata to determine whether you can share the meter or apply for a separate one. As for commercial purposes, the charging rate will be determined by the station owner
  • Can EVs be left charging unattended?
    Yes, NEVS charging stations are designed to stop the transfer of electricity to the vehicle when the car is completely charged. Because the transfer of electricity will automatically stop, your vehicle can stay plugged in overnight as well.
  • Can these chargers be installed in homes/condominiums? If so, how?
    Residential AC chargers with an output of 7 kW to 11 kW can be installed following the steps highlighted by BCHydro via their website https://electricvehicles.bchydro.com/charge/how-to-install-home-EV-charger. However, if you live in a condominium, you must get the approval of your strata council or building manager before you install your EV charger.
  • What is a level 2 EV charger?
    EV chargers are categorized by levels: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 or DC Fast Chargers (DCFC). A Level 2 charger is a high-power rate option that can charge your vehicle in less time than a Level 1 charger, while still being suitable for residential and commercial applications. DCFCs, on the contrary, are mainly reserved for large commercial and industrial applications.
  • What should I do if the charger malfunctions?
    We primarily sell newly released chargers, and according to the manufacturer's standards, you will receive warranty coverage in the event of defects or abnormalities. The probability of malfunctions is low, except for damage caused by negligence or the use of unauthorized parts.
  • Are these chargers okay to be used outdoors?
    Yes, our products are all designed and tested with a waterproof rating of IP55 or higher making them suitable for any type of weather that may come its way.
  • What do NEMA 14-50 and NEMA 6-50 mean?
    NEMA 14-50 and NEMA 6-50 are two types of 50A electrical plugs that most level 2 charging stations use. NEMA 14-50 has 4 prongs and NEMA 6-50 has 3 prongs. If you do not already have the electrical receptacle installed, we recommend contacting your electrician to verify what type of receptacle is best for your home before purchasing the charger.
  • My vehicle only draws a maximum of 32 amps. Is there any problem with getting a charger that is set to 40 amps if I have a 50-amp breaker?
    You should set the charger based on the maximum rating of the circuit breaker regardless of how much the vehicle accepts. The car communicates with the charger to determine how much power it requires, and the charger delivers.
  • What circuit size is required for my EV charger?
    To connect a 32A EV charging station you need to have 40A circuit breaker available. For 40A EV Charger – 50A circuit breaker and 48A EV charger – 60A circuit breaker
  • Will my EV work with this charger?
    Yes, our chargers use the international standard chargers known as J1772 Almost all electric vehicles released in North America will come with these charging ports. Please check with your specific car charging port to see if compatible. Teslas will be required to buy a J1772 to Tesla adapter to be able to use these chargers.
  • What are the best conditions for charging?
    The temperature of the environment can play a significant role in your charging speed.In a study that examined EV charging speeds in environments that ranged from -9°C - 40°C, researchers found that colder weather significantly impacted charging speeds.For example, researchers found DC fast-chargers that achieved an 80% recharge rate in 30 minutes at 25°C struggled to reach 36% in the same time frame at freezing (0°C).
  • Are there any EV charging best practices I should follow at home?
    Yes! One key tip for EV charging at home is to try to maintain your EV battery between 25% and 75%. Also, remember there are many factors that affect charging speed such as charging rate of the vehicle, battery size, battery fullness, and environmental elements such as temperature.
  • What is OCPP?
    OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is a shared language which is used by EV Charger and Software management platforms to communicate to each other. Not all electric vehicle chargers are OCPP compliant. But the ones who do enjoy a wide selection of features.
  • Who can install my stations?
    The installation process for our chargers is highly streamlined and straightforward. Once you have determined the amperage of your circuit breakers and located the 240V Nema Socket, you can theoretically go about the installation process yourself after getting the approval of city hall. However, we strongly recommend contracting a licensed electrician, as locations may vary and this will help future proof your electrical system. Additionally, we offer the option of providing installation during the purchase of the unit.
  • Can installation be requested at the time of purchase?
    If you make a separate request, we will schedule and coordinate the installation confirmation, including site surveys required for installation.
  • Payment
    Payment for the product will be processed through credit card. If you choose bank transfer, you can deposit the payment through online banking, mobile banking, or directly at a nearby bank. The name of the depositor must match the name entered during the order placement. Payment must be made within 7 days, and orders not paid within this period will be automatically canceled. When purchasing the product, an additional field for installation requests will be displayed. If you request installation, a separate invoice will be sent, and a pre-installation checklist, including site surveys will be required before invoice preparation.
  • Shipping Information
    Partnered with Canada Post, we are committed to delivering your order promptly and efficiently. All orders shipped from us will include a confirmation email with attached tracking information to keep you updated on your package's status. Our shipping rates are calculated based on the weight and destination of your order, and we offer various shipping options to cater to your needs. Please note that shipping times and prices are subject to change depending on the location, such as mountainous rural areas, however a rough estimate provided by Canada Post states 2-7 business days after the order has been fulfilled..
  • Refund policy
    At NEVS, our utmost priority is our customers' satisfaction. We firmly believe that our success hinges on the trust and confidence our customers place in our products. Should you encounter any reason for dissatisfaction with your purchase, kindly inform us, and we will take all necessary steps to rectify the situation and ensure your contentment. Please email admin@dmevs.com to start the process. For Refund requests right after you purchase the charger, you have a 30 day window starting from the date of your invoice for a full refund. It should be noted that NEVS will only cover shipping for cases of warranty and exchanges. In certain cases where the supply of goods or services is significantly delayed after receiving the shipping information, you have the option to request a refund within 3 months from the date of receiving the goods or within 30 days from the date you become aware of, or should have reasonably become aware of, any discrepancy between the provided goods or services and the information displayed or advertised, as well as the terms outlined in the contract. All products MUST have prior authorization from NEVS before being sent for refund/warranties.
  • Can I cancel my application for the promotion or setting up the EV charger?
    Yes, you may cancel the promotion application after you have successfully submitted. However, after the Airbnb property representative and our company has agreed to install the EV charger, then the property owner shall be responsible for the cost incurred during the following procedures we made to install the EV charger.
  • What is the process for installing the EV charger at my property and how long does it take?
    Steps for the overall installation includes but not limited to preapproval for the relevant permits, electrical work, EV charger and auxiliary installation, site inspection from the BC Hydro, internet connection, and any necessary paperwork regarding the installation. In general, it takes about 3~4 months to get your EV charger activated from the point where we agree to install your EV charging station. However, time required for the installation may vary depending on the region, property conditions, electrician schedule availability, or delays in permit approval from the officials.
  • What are the criteria for getting selected for the promotion?
    We plan to select our promotion beneficiary fairly on a first come first served basis. However, other factors including the property’s location and conditions may be considered in the selection process.
  • How does profit sharing work and what benefits can property owners have after the installation?
    The profits generated from the EV charging station will be the EV charging parking fee, Clean BC rebate program from the BC Hydro(optional), CFR LCFS credit from BC gov(optional). After considering our eligibility of the government refund/rebate programs and the initial cost incurred from the overall installation, we will suggest and negotiate the sharing proportion terms of the EV charging parking fee. For instance, we may claim fixed rates of 50% of CFR LCFS, 100% of Clean BC program, and 70% of charging parking fees just for the first 2 years of installation (50:50 proportion may apply afterwards based on the annual agreement). Please note that these terms will be transparently decided and will be agreed upon mutually and reasonably.
  • What do I need to prepare for setting up the EV charger station at my property?
    We fully take care of the occurring expenses and relevant procedures during the entire installation period. It would be great if you could provide us with an adequate setup location within the parking space for the guests. Additionally, there will be some documents and application process that only property owners can submit to the gov office regarding the relevant permit and eligible rebate program. We will support and guide you with any necessary documents or procedures that may require you to submit before the deadline.
  • Is there any other expense to consider while operating the EV charger?
    There is a small charge for the maintenance fee which is maximum $20 per month for each device. This contains the service for the technical troubleshooting of the EV charger device and network connection with the operating system. The warranty for the device will be covered up to 3 years and we will take responsible for the malfunctioning of the device except for the deliberate damage occurrence. We are trying our best to provide high-quality service through managing our central control system.
  • Which type of EV charger will be installed and what options do I have?
    We are currently offering a CSA certified level 2 Cyberswitching CSE1 product to be installed at your location. However, there is another EV charger (EVAR SC product) which is being evaluated for CSA approval and we expect it to be available by the end of June. Please visit our website for more information on the Cyberswitching CSE1 and EVAR Smart Charger products.
  • Can I cancel my application for the promotion or setting up the EV charger?
    Yes, you may cancel the promotion application after you have successfully submitted. However, after the property representative and our company have agreed to install the EV charger, then the property owner shall be responsible for the cost incurred during the following procedures we made to install the EV charger.

  • How long of a wait time should I expect once my call is in?
    Once the charging request has been submitted, the operations team will be notified and immediately dispatch our EV charging agents. Depending on the availability and distance required to reach you, a rough estimate will be calculated and sent through email or SMS.
  • What level of charging do you offer?
    We offer DC charging which can supply up to 20kW/h which roughly equates to 100 km/hr.
  • How long does the servicing take? How much power/mileage can I expect?
    The time required for the service may differ depending on the charging amount and your vehicle type. Normally, you can get 20kw in an hour. There are a variety of factors that contribute to the overall time it takes to complete your service. These factors include the weather, temperature and status of your vehicle, battery input capacity and so on. Our Chargers can supply up to 20 kW/h.
  • How to use the Mobile Charging Service?
    NON MEMBERSHIP If you wish to use our Roadside Assistance without a membership you can use our Roadside Assistance 1 Time Request. To Request Roadside Assistance, please go to our online booking system. The rate of the service call is dependent on your location from the dmEVS HQ(2990 Arbutus Street).
  • How long of a wait time should I expect once my call is in?
    Once the charging request has been submitted, the submissions alarm goes directly to our operation team where we allocate our EV charging agents immediately if possible.
  • Warranty
    Warranty Duration: NEVS guarantees that the products sold will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months. Warranty Coverage: The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions during the specified warranty period. Warranty Service: If the charging station becomes defective within the warranty period due to non-abusive and normal usage, the chargers will replace the charging station upon written notice of the defect. Exclusions: The warranty will not apply in the following cases: - Misuse, abuse, or alteration of the product. - Cosmetic damage like scratches, dents, or normal aging. - Damage caused by extreme power surges, extreme electromagnetic fields, or acts of nature. - Use of third-party extension cords or electrical adapters with the product. - Normal wear and tear of the charging cable. - Damage to plugs exposed to snow or water for prolonged periods. - Waterproof rating guarantee if the charger is mounted upside down. - Damage caused to Wi-Fi-connected charging stations by software providers. Proof of Purchase: The warranty claimant must present the original purchase invoice, including the date of purchase, to be eligible for warranty service. Replacement and Shipping: For all products covered under warranty, NEVS will issue a replacement unit at no cost to the customer. The warranty covers the full cost of the replacement charging station, including shipping and handling for both the replacement unit and the return shipping of the defective unit. Liability Limitation: The cumulative liability of the chargers for warranty claims will not exceed the original price of the charging station. Consequential Damages: NEVS assume no liability for any dismantling, removal, installation, re-installation, labor costs, or any consequential damages associated with this warranty. Faulty Installations: NEVS are not responsible for any costs associated with faulty installations of EV Charging Stations. Final Decision: NEVS will make the final decision regarding the legitimacy of any warranty claim in a fair manner. If you discover any defective Charging Station, please contact our Technical Support Department at admin@dmevs.com for further instructions on how to repair or replace the defective unit.
